Retrofit Infeed Scroll System

The retrofit system provides precise transfer and control of bottles from an air conveyor system into a filler using a neck handling scroll system.

The system offers the following key benefits: Precise location of bottle into filler infeed starwheel. Independent of bottle diameter - Reduces change parts. Operation doubles as the bottle stop system.

Operation
The bottles travel down the existing air conveyor and are separated by the rotating neck scroll. Once the neck of the bottle is located by the scroll its speed and position is now matched to the exact timing needed to put the neck of the bottle into the filler infeed starwheel.

When the flow of bottles needs to be interrupted the scroll ramps to a stop in such a position that the last bottle completely feeds into the infeed startwheel and the other bottles are held in the waiting position.

When the flow of bottles needs to be restarted the scroll quickly ramps up to the correct speed and position to feed the bottles into the pockets of the infeed starwheel.

The scroll drive incorporates anti jam protection systems to prevent damage to the unit or bottles.

The system consists of the following:

• Infeed servo driven neck scroll assembly.
• Filler encoder and mounting bracket.
• Servo controller system to be mounted into existing panel. (20 Metres of cable supplied as standard extra as option.)
• Interface to existing filler PLC system.
• Air conveyor modifications and mounting brackets.
• Software for Servo and PLC system.
• Electrical drawings of modifications.
