Brief History of Our Company
Formed in 1979 as 'Central Bottling and Brewing Services,' the company initially began by trading redundant or surplus brewery plant and equipment.
As the business developed and the Company gained a reputation for efficient line removal and professional services, custom built buildings were erected and the acquisition of a second site completed.
To meet the increasing demand for overhauled and reconditioned machinery, the Company became 'Central Bottling International Limited' and built up it's engineering capabilities, enabling it to undertake multi-million pound 'turnkey' projects involving the most sophisticated packaging equipment.
As Central Bottling International Limited developed a reputation for quality, reliability, cost effectiveness and reduced lead times, our product range increased.
In 1994 the Change Parts Division was created and we could now supply an alternative to the OEMs. This business has gone from strength to strength and is now the largest independent change parts supplier in Europe.
Spotting CBI's potential in 2005, Barry-Wehmiller, a large international packaging machinery manufacturer and service provider, entered commercial negotiations for the purchase of the engineering arm of Central Bottling International Limited. The purchase was completed in May of this year and has opened up new challenges and markets to CBI.
